Shake Shack is making a comeback to Pennsylvania Station after being displaced in late 2019 due to station renovations. The burger company just signed a 3,380-square-foot lease with Vornado Realty Trust. The asking rent and the length of the lease were not disclosed. It is uncertain when the burger joint will reopen. Shake Shack’s prime location in the heavily trafficked Penn Station will benefit from the rebounding retail market and more employees returning to the office. Prior to the 2019 exit of Shake Shack, Penn Station’s LIRR concourse also hosted Starbucks, Papyrus, Godiva, Pret a Manger, Le Bon Cafe, and small deli-style kiosks, which had to leave during the renovations.
