Shopping in SoHo
SoHo, short for “South of Houston” (Houston is NOT pronounced like the Texan city), is a popular shopping district in lower Manhattan. Known for its charming cobblestone streets and cast-iron architecture, SoHo offers a mix of high-end boutiques, international brands, and independent shops. It is particularly famous for its fashion and design stores, as well as art galleries.
Some of the notable retailers in the area include Apple, Bloomingdale’s, Nike, Chanel, Prada, and Uniqlo. SoHo is also home to several restaurants and cafes, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals.

Shopping Tips
SoHo is a compact shopping area so it is nice to just wander around the streets and pop into stores that look interesting, even if you have never heard of them. If you’re in a time-crunch though, go ahead and do some research and mark out the stores you are most interested in visiting. Whether you are looking for the high-end designers or less expensive items, you can find it all here.
During the weekend, it can get very crowded so get ready for that, but the nice thing is that it can be quite fun to people watch and see people dressing up in their trendiest clothes. If you get tired, there are also a lot of nice place to grab a quick bite or snack such as Ladurée and Balthazar (including their bakery).
